This page is to provide you with some guidance on how we hunt and also where we hunt.
The Limpopo Valley Game Reserve is our main hunting area. Situated in the Limpopo Valley of South Africa on the borders to Zimbabwe and Botswana and a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg.
The hunting territory is called the Mopani Bushveld with a mixture of Mopani Bruch, acacia and Big Baobab trees. The terrain is flat that makes for easy stalking and the occasional Rocky outcrop from which you can glass the area. The Limpopo Valley is known as one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa. Within this area PJ Hunting Safaris have exclusive hunting rights on over 30 000ha. The Game Reserve is host to Cape Buffalo, Sable, Roan, Leopard, Giraffe , with other predators roaming around free such as Hyena and smaller cats. This area is well known for its very Big Kudu Bulls and also Eland, Waterbuck, Nyala and Bushbuck. With over 30 other species of game animals roaming within these area.
PJ Hunting Safaris offers Rifle, Bow/Arrow and Handgun hunting, and have extensive experience in guiding and guarantee you as hunter to do our very best to take you to the best trophies. During your safari you would typically wake up at dawn to start hunting early in the morning, as this is a time of the day when most animals are very active. At midday we stop for lunch and to rest before the afternoon outing that will last until sunset. Both our 4 Star Lodges are situated with the Game Reserve and time will not be spend commuting to a hunting area, here you can start hunting straight from Camp.
PJ Hunting Safaris hunts various areas around the Famous Kruger National Park on Private Game Reserves which are part of the Greater Kruger open system for mainly Big Game such as Elephant , Buffalo and Hippo.
These areas covers well over 130 000ha of free range hunting, with thick brush and riverine areas that will make your hunt and experience of a lifetime. Long hours of tracking is the order of the day, and sometimes the tracker become tracked with Lion roaming freely within these areas.
Northern Free State:
PJ Hunting Safaris also offer the opportunity to hunt the Open Plains of South Africa, mainly for species that do not occur in the Limpopo Bushveld such as your Black Wildebeest, Lechwe, Mountain Rhebuck, Blesbucks and Springbucks. These areas are only 2 hour drive from Johannesburg airport and give you as hunter the opportunity to test your skill on long range shooting. Because these areas are open grass plains and cover is very few it make for challenging hunting. These areas are also not that big in size and on average between 1500 2500 ha.
