We provide South African Safaris of the Big 5 and other Plains Game
Hunting and Photographic Safaris
This page is to provide you with some guidance on how we hunt. The hunting territory is a mixture of savannah land, bushveld and mountain/rocky area. The Northern Province (Limpopo Province) is known as one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa.
PJ Safaris offers Rifle, Bow/Arrow and Handgun hunting, and have extensive experience in guiding and guarantee you as hunter to do our very best to take you to the best trophies. During your safari you would typically wake up at dawn to start hunting early in the morning, as this is a time of the day when most animals are very active. At midday we stop for lunch and to rest before the afternoon outing that will last until sunset.
Our Main Techniques * Track Search: Search for fresh tracks and follow them until within shooting range of the animal. * Trekking: Identify places the animal is likely to visit and silently walk through that area. * Blind: Identify places the animal is likely to visit and wait there. Bowhunting * Koppie Sighting: Climb to a koppie (big rock), locate animals and stalk them. * Car Drive: Drive around looking for the animals, then get within shooting range on foot. All of these techniques can be interchanged and/or combined. You get to make the decision of how to use these techniques in order to provide you with the best experience possible.
Our hunts are carefully planned and well organized. Our hunting vehicles are equipped with everything to ensure that YOU are comfortable at all times, and are always in radio contact.
